UAE AUTHORITIES INCREASE AIR PEACE FLIGHTS TO SEVEN SLOTS PER WEEK

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has increased the number of flight slots given to Air Peace to seven per week from an initial one per week amid an ongoing diplomatic row with Nigeria.

This was made known in a letter issued by the Dubai Aviation Authority to Air Peace on Monday December 13.

UAE General Civil Aviation Authority had limited Air Peace’s travel slot to one at the country’s Sharjah Airport, but it has now increased it to seven per week, allowing them to fly into the Dubai airport as against Sharjah.

It had earlier refused to grant Air Peace a request for three slots at Sharjah Airport, granting only one. The Nigerian Ministry of Aviation in retaliation, withdrew the 21 weekly flight slots it earlier approved for Emirates Airline.

The UAE Government also said it was unaware of the alleged stoppage of Nigerians from entering any part of the Emirates through other foreign airlines.
