The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has mobilized thugs into Ondo State ahead of the Saturday election.

The PDP disclosed this in a statement via its official Twitter handle on Wednesday morning.

It claimed that the thugs were imported into the State in the guise of men of the Nigeria Police Force on uniforms.

The suspected thugs are allegedly residing in Mydas Hotel, Owo and some of them are with Gov. Bello in St Jacob’s Hotel, Alagbaka.

"The thugs are masquerading as security officers with fake Police Uniforms.

"They are residing in Mydas Hotel, Owo. Some of them are with Gov. Bello in St Jacob’s Hotel, Alagbaka," PDP tweeted.

The opposition party had asked President Muhammadu Buhari not to interfere in the Saturday governorship election in Ondo State.

It claimed that its request was in relation to an intelligence alert that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is planning to drag in certain officials of the President to use violence and federal might to muscle the election against the wishes and aspiration of the people of Ondo State.

The PDP had accused Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of collusion with the security chiefs in the State of plans to cause mayhem during the polls.

According to the PDP, all petitions written to the offices of the service chiefs in relation to the ‘naked orgy of violence’ on the people of Ondo State by the APC have been ignored.

The PDP also alleged that the APC members are planning to repaint the campaign vehicles and brand them as observers’ vehicles during the election so that these vehicles can be used to convey weapons to actualize their rigging plan.
