SHEKAU RELEASES NEW VIDEO DAYS AFTER NIGERIA MILITARY DECLARES HIM WANTED
Boko Haram factional leader Abubakar Shekau has released a new video days after the Nigeria military launched a manhunt against him and his top lieutenants.
In the video, a lean looking Shekau said “nobody can apprehend me. But if this is the case, it will not end the war.”
The Boko Haram leader who has been elusive since 2009, confirmed that some of his fighters have deserted him saying "they have left the fold of religion."
Recall Eons Intelligence reported that a fierce intra-jihadist battle broke out between the old Mamman Nur (deceased) led ISWAP unit and units loyal to veteran and weakened JAS factional leader Abubakar Shekau. The bloody gun fight between commanding units of the inherently bitter rival factions led to the loss of a significant number of Shekau’s men.
Following the capture or kill order by the Nigeria military, a weakened Shekau is believed to have swallowed his pride and take refuge in the ISWAP camp.
