GUNMEN KIDNAP 18 RESIDENTS IN MID-NIGHT AMBUSH AT CHIKUN LGA OF KADUNA
Gunmen have kidnapped about 18 people in Keke community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This is coming barely two weeks after gunmen raided Zango community, Zangon-Kataf LGA of Kaduna, in a midnight ambush, kidnapping seven residents.
Sources say the assailants, in large numbers, invaded the community around 12 midnight on Tuesday, and shot sporadically, causing residents to scamper for safety.
The gunmen then went into the homes of residents and whisked not less than 18 persons to an unknown destination
Chikun LGA has been a hotbed for kidnappings in Kaduna State this year. On April 26, suspected Herdsmen stormed Libere community, and kidnapped the village head and his family members. This was two months after gunmen killed 18 villagers and kidnapped several others in February 2021.
