Terrorist Attack Leaves Two Policemen Dead, Over 200 Cows Rustled in Kebbi State
A deadly attack was launched by suspected members of the Lakurawa terrorist group on Natsini village in Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 11 p.m., resulting in the deaths of two policemen and the rustling of over 200 cows.
Eyewitnesses reported that more than 50 armed attackers arrived on motorcycles, targeting a police checkpoint along the Augie/Kangiwa road. The terrorists overpowered the officers stationed at the checkpoint before proceeding to raid a nearby ranch, where they stole cattle belonging to prominent civil servant Lawali Black.
A witness, Abubakar Augie, described the scene: "The attackers were numerous, riding motorcycles. After taking out the policemen, they moved to the ranch and rustled the cows."
Aliyu Gulma, chairman of Argungu Local Government, confirmed the attack and announced that a security meeting had been convened to address the situation. The state government has ordered security forces to track down the perpetrators and recover the stolen livestock.
This incident has left residents of the area shaken, prompting renewed calls for enhanced security measures to tackle the growing threat of terrorism and banditry in the region.
