NAF Airstrikes Hit Boko Haram Strongholds in Borno, Disrupt Logistics and Neutralise Terrorists
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a significant breakthrough in the fight against terrorism following precision airstrikes that targeted Boko Haram strongholds in Borno State.
The operation, conducted on 6th July 2025 under Operation HADIN KAI, struck key enclaves of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram, located within the Mandara Mountains along Nigeria’s border with Cameroon.
According to military sources, the high-profile targets, identified as Wa Jahode and Loghpere, have long served as fortified hideouts for the terrorist group and recently witnessed increased insurgent activity, including logistics build-ups and the reported presence of senior JAS commanders.
The strikes were carried out following confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, which revealed fortified terrorist compounds, structures fitted with solar panels, black flags, and other indicators of insurgent presence and operational planning.
NAF strike aircraft subsequently executed a series of coordinated air interdictions, destroying terrorist infrastructure such as logistics warehouses, command centres, and defensive shelters. Dozens of terrorists were neutralised, and their supply chains severely disrupted.
The Nigerian Air Force has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining relentless air operations aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities and restoring peace to Nigeria’s North-East and other troubled regions.
