COVID-19: AKWA IBOM DISCHARGES THREE OF FIVE PATIENTS

Three out of five patients tested positive for coronavirus in Akwa Ibom State have been discharged after recovering and tested negative. 


The was disclosed by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Dominic Ukpong, said the three former patients came out negative through a confirmation test. 


Earlier, while addressing newsmen, the Ukpong said an additional person who had presented symptoms of COVID- 19 was also discharged, making the total number of discharged persons four.


“Altogether we had nine persons in the isolation unit three of the persons we are discharging today are from the initial 5 index cases. Others were suspected cases whose test results came out negative”. He said


Ukpong said apart from the five index cases, one suspected case also turned out positive, bringing to three, the total number of persons still infected with Coronavirus in the state


“Akwa Ibom State now has 3 confirmed positive cases, two from the initial 5 index cases, and one case as announced by the NCDC last night”. He said
