Recall that following pockets of fuel queues and rumours of impending fuel hike, across the country, the state owned NNPC assured citizens that there were no plans for a fuel price hike in the month of March.
NNPC said the petrol price would remain unchanged to allow smooth negotiations between Government and labour unions.
Kennie Obateru, the NNPC General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division on March 1, said the corporation was not contemplating any raise in the price of petrol in March in order not to jeopardize ongoing engagements with organized labour and other stakeholders on an acceptable framework that will not expose the ordinary Nigerian to any hardship.
