BUHARI FELICITATES WITH FORMER PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN AT 63

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday congratulated his predecessor, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on his 63rd birthday.

The President also appreciated Jonathan’s dedication as the leader of ECOWAS special envoy on Mali Crisis. 

“On behalf of the Federal Government, and Nigerians in general, I congratulate former President @GEJonathan on his 63rd birthday, today. We celebrate a life of service that has brought honour and goodwill to Nigeria,” Buhari said in a statement released on Twitter. 


“Nigeria specially appreciates the dedication that has kept Dr. Jonathan working most recently as ECOWAS envoy to bring peace to the Republic of Mali. I pray that the Almighty God will grant him longer life, good health and more wisdom to keep serving the nation and humanity,” he added. 


Goodluck Jonathan voluntarily accepted defeat and conceded power to Muhammadu Buhari, an opposition party who contested under the aegis of the All Progressive Congress, APC during the 2015 presidential election making Buhari the first opposition candidate in Nigeria to win a presidential election.
