POLICE ARREST 29-YEAR OLD MAN WITH WEAPONS IN ANAMBRA
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old man, Mr. Daniel Nebolisa, with an AK 47 and other weapons in the state.
The State’s Police PRO, Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday.
The Police PRO stated that the suspect was arrested at his hideout in Afor Nwafia, Njikoka LGA of Anambra State.
The statement reads; ''Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Eworo, has urged Ndi Anambra and residents alike to sustain the tempo in providing police and the security community with timely and credible crime prevention imformation that will be used to curb acts of crime and criminality in the State, enjoining them to remain vigilant and law-abiding.
''The CP made this plea following a recent feat accomplished by the command, a feat he attributed to credible intelligence made possible by members of the public, It would be recalled that on N11/10/2021, police operatives in Anambra bursted a criminal hideout at Afor Nwafia LGA, and arrested one Daniel Nebolisa M aged 29years, recovered one double-barrel locally fabricated pistol, twenty-one live cartridge, five expended cartridges, and one AK-47 ammunition all concealed in a bag.
''The suspect who is already helping the police with information to apprehend other gang members confessed that h was awaiting other members of his gang as at the time of his arrest by the police.
''Meanwhile, the CP has reassured Ndi Anambra and residents alike of Command's commitment to do everything within its powers to maintain public security and safety in the State.''
