POLICE ARREST TWO ARMED ROBBERS WHO KILLED A FILLING STATION ATTENDANT IN ONDO

Operatives of the Nigerian Police, Ondo Command, have arrested two of four suspected armed robbers who killed an attendant at a filling station in Akure, Ondo State.


The filling station located along the Oba-Ile Road area of the city was attacked by the armed robbers late Tuesday, June 23, 2020.


The Force Public Relations Officer, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, who confirmed the incident to Eons Intelligence, said the suspects did not succeed in robbing the filling station.


The fuel attendant was shot when he confronted the suspicious-looking men. Unfortunately died on the way to the hospital, the Force spokesperson added.


Ikoro said two of the four suspects were nabbed, adding that the remaining two fleeing suspects are being trailed by the police and would be arrested before the end of today.


According to him, the remaining two suspects snatched a bike to aid their escape.


Ikoro revealed that a rifle, a Dane gun, some cartridges, and live ammunition were recovered from the two arrested suspects.

The Police spokesperson added that the command would ensure that all criminals in the State are apprehended and made to face the wrath of the law.


He also assured residents of the State that the police would not relent in providing adequate security for their lives and properties.
