Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested two suspected kidnappers during a clearance operation in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Acting on credible intelligence, soldiers raided a hideout in the Garau axis of Rafin Taba community on September 19, 2025, leading to the arrest of Ibrahim Umaru and Adamu Malam Musa. Both suspects are reportedly linked to multiple kidnapping incidents across Taraba and neighboring Plateau State.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspects had collected large ransoms from victims’ families and often moved abductees to the notorious Madam Forest in Plateau to evade security surveillance.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade, commended the troops for their professionalism and vowed continued operations to dismantle criminal networks threatening peace in the state.
The Nigerian Army urged residents to provide timely intelligence to aid ongoing operations while warning criminal elements to desist or face decisive action.
