#ENDSARS: I WAS DISGUSTED BY FOREIGN MEDIA COVERAGE OF PROTEST- BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday expressed his displeasure at the manner foreign media handled the coverage of the #Endsars protest in Nigeria.

Buhari, in a statement released on Wednesday night, said the foreign media did not give a balanced report of the happenings in the country, adding that CNN and the BBC did not include the grievous incidents like the killing of policemen, burning of police stations and the opening of prisons.

“It must be said that foreign press coverage of the ENDSARS violence was not balanced, especially from CNN and BBC. I was disgusted by the coverage, which did not give attention to the policemen that were killed, the stations that were burnt, and prisons that were opened,” the president said.

President Buhari’s statement is coming a day after he held a meeting with all 36 state governors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

At the meeting, the President reiterated his stance against a reoccurrence of the EndSARS protest.

“We do not stop anyone from demonstrating, but you don’t set up roadblocks and smashing windscreens. Which government will allow that?,’’ Buhari asked.
