VIDEO SHOWS A WHITE MAN IGNITED THE LOOTING OF SHOPS IN MINNEAPOLIS USING THE BROKEN WINDOWS THEORY (VIDEO)
As tensions continue to rise in the United States following the murder of George Floyd- a black man murdered by a policeman who knelt on his neck till he fell unconscious, there have been violent demonstrations in the city in protest.
These demonstrations have been seemingly hijacked by looters who broke into a shop while the protest was ongoing igniting concerns of "the broken windows theory". The video footage of this demonstration has gone viral on social media and has generated reactions.
The broken windows theory believes that visible signs of violence or crime like broken windows and graffitis in an environment encourage more crimes in society.
The video shows a man covering his face with a gas mask sneaking to the shop while others were protesting. He broke the windows and left.

The identity of the man is currently unknown, but he is believed to be an agent provocateur.
Now, the protest which is meant to speak against racism and the gruesome killing of George Floyd has erupted in violence and looting of shops.
Public attention has been taken away from the call to arrest and charge the officers for murder.
"Unfortunately, some individuals have engaged in unlawful and dangerous activity, including arson, rioting, looting, and damaging public and private property," said Tim Walz, the Governor of Minnesota as he declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard.
President Donald Trump has labelled the protesters "thugs." The US president in a tweet this morning said: ....
"These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won't let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!"
The tweet has been flagged by Twitter as glorifying violence
