TEENAGER REMANDED FOR STABBING 13-YEAR-OLD BOY TO DEATH IN LAGOS
A 18 years old boy Abubakar Ahmed, has been remanded to Kirikiri Custodian Centre, Lagos State over an alleged killing of a 13-year-old boy at Ijora-Badiya, Lagos State.
Abubakar was brought before a Magistrate court sitting at Yaba on 21st June 2023 and presided by Magistrate Patrick Nwaka.
The prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, revealed that the defendant killed his friend identified as Ekenedirichukwu around 0900hrs on May 28, 2023.
The charge read, “That you, Abubakar Ahmed, on May 28, 2023, around 9am at Ijora-Badia, Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Ekenedirichukwu, 13, by stabbing him with a knife in the chest and thereby committed an offense contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
However, the defendant’s plea was overruled.
The prosecutor requested that the court remands the defendant till legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution is received.
Magistrate Nwaka then confirmed that the defendant was already 18 years old, and then granted the request of the prosecutor and remanded the defendant to the Kirikiri Custodial Centre pending legal advice from the DPP.
Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned till July 19, 2023.
