Troops eliminate two terrorist commanders in katsina operation
Troops of 17 Brigade, operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have reportedly neutralised two senior members of a terrorist group during an overnight operation in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The two commanders were identified as Hamisu, also known as Mamiyo, who was allegedly a gunrunner and deputy to terrorist leader Kachalla Muhammadu Filani, and Umar Bocho, described as a senior lieutenant within the group.
Kachalla Muhammadu Filani reportedly escaped with serious gunshot wounds during the operation, while troops recovered and destroyed two motorcycles believed to belong to the terrorists.
The operation remains ongoing, with troops continuing efforts to locate the fleeing commander and other members of the group.
