TRUCK CONVEYING 30 ALMAJIRIS INTERCEPTED BY TRACE CORPS IN OGUN
Operatives of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps intercepted a truck carrying 30 almajiris on Monday, May 11.
Babatunde Akinbiyi,spokesman for TRACE disclosed this in a statement.
The Hausa Youths (Almajiri) were intercepted while inside an IVECO truck with registration number Kano XG 172 KNG, loaded with assorted pepper, covered with tarpaulin.
The truck was intercepted at Joju area of Sango in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area in Ogun State.
Akinbiyi said the truck was turned back and led to the tollgate from where it was coming from.
The truck was said to be coming from Lagos axis.
He added "But we don't know their final destination before they were apprehended at Ota by eagle-eyed Division TRACE command Ota, Ajibade Adekunle."
He added that operatives with an unbranded vehicle escorted the Almajiri truck till it left the State's boundary.
Recall, Osun State Government cried out that some northern youths were penetrating the state.
