TWO POLICE OFFICERS AND A CIVILIAN ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY
Two police officers and an accomplice have been arrested for armed robbery, South Africa police say.
The policemen who are attached to the Roodepan police station, alongside a civilian accomplice, allegedly robbed a local tuckshop in Kimberly.
The suspects carted away 25 cartons of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Reports say one of the policemen had his uniform on during the robbery.
The members of the Trio Task Team in collaboration with the Public Order Police, Search and Rescue, SAPS Roodepan and SANDF arrested the suspects on Sunday, May 9 at about 6 pm.
The two police officers were apprehended at their place of work, and their accomplice was arrested at his residence in Roodepan.
