UNKNOWN GUNMEN ABDUCT FORMER IMO HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SPEAKER
Unknown Gunmen have kidnapped a former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Lawman Duruji.
Reports indicate that the former Speaker was kidnapped on Saturday at Oriagu community, Ehime Mbano LGA while returning from a function.
Similarly, unknown gunmen have kidnapped a popular businessman in Owerri fondly referred to as Ezzybee.
Sources say the victim was abducted on Sunday while on the way to watch a local football match.
Confirming the incidents, the Imo State Police PRO, Micheal Abbatam, said that the command is in the trail of the abductors.
He also added that the wife of an ex-chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area, Frank Onwunere, was kidnapped last week. The Police PRO also said some persons were abducted at Okwelle junction in the Onuimo LGA of the state, and at the Umbomiri junction in the Mbaitoli and Amaraku in the Mbano LGAs of the State.
