YOUNG LADY GANG-RAPED IN CHURCH DIES
A 22-year-old undergraduate of the University of Benin identified as Uwa Omozuwa, who was reportedly raped by some men inside a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Benin, has died.
According to a report, Omozuwa, on May 27 went to the RCCG, province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin to read.
The unknown men forced their way into the church, hit the victim in the head with a fire extinguisher and raped her.
The security guard at the church said he saw a pool of blood and he immediately notified the heads in the church.
Immediately the victim was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital where she explained what had happened to her.
Umozuma died on Saturday, May 30, 2020, three days after her ordeal.
The victim was said to have just gained admission into the University and yet to be matriculated.
Godwin Obaseki, Governor of Edo State who confirmed the incident said he has ordered the Police to thoroughly investigate the circumstances that led to the death of the victim.
