BRAZIL WOMEN PLAYERS TO RECEIVE SAME PAY AS THEIR MALE COUNTERPARTS

The Brazil women national football team will receive the same pay as the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) has announced.

RogĂ©rio Caboclo, the head of CBF disclosed this on Wednesday, September 3, during a press statement, stating that the Brazillian women national team would earn the same as their male counterparts.

"Women will receive the same daily rate as those who already receive them. The women's team that wins or progresses through the stages at next year's Olympic Games will receive the same as the men," Caboclo said.

This development is coming following Brazil's legendary player, Marta's impassioned plea for the country to rally round female football after the Brazil women's national team lost out of the world cup in 2019 in the round 16 after a 2-1 defeat to France.

Experts say Brazil's move is a massive milestone in the fight against gender pay gap in all professional fields.
