WIKE COMMENDS NIGERIA AIRFORCE ON PROFESSIONALISM, CALLS FOR INCREASED PARTNERSHIP TO REDUCE CRIME IN RIVERS

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has commended the Nigeria Airforce for displaying a high level of professionalism in the discharge of its duties. He also expressed his desire to increase collaboration and synergy with other Security Agencies towards reducing criminality in the State.

The Governor said this in Port-Harcourt on Monday while playing host to the Country's Twenty First Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao.

The CAS is on an Operational visit to 115 Special Operations Group in Rivers State. The Governor, in company of some Caninet members hosted the CAS and his entourage at the Brick House in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

Addressing his guests, the Governor remarked that the Air Force under the watch of Air Marshal Amao has displayed a high level of professonalism and has remained apolitical, even when it was not fashionable to do so.

He said: "I commend the Airforce in Rivers State for being examplerary in their collaboration with other Security Agencies and the State Government in fighting crime in the State. They have also distinguished themselves by remaining apolitical in Rivers State", the Governor said.

"I congratulate and wish Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao the very best as he leads the Nation’s Airforce to greater glory".

In his response, Air Marshal stated that the Nigeria Airforce will not relent in its efforts until all criminal elements in the nooks and crannies of the Country are permanently rooted out.

He thanked the Governor for providing what he described as a conducive environment for his men and other Security Agencies to function optimally.
