ANAMBRA STATE POLICE ARRESTS MAN FOR RAPING A 7-YEAR OLD GIRL
The Anambra Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man for raping a seven-year-old girl at Onitsha, Anambra State.
This was confirmed by the State’s Police spokesman, Haruna Mohammed.
Mohammed told newsmen in Awka today, and gave the identity of the suspect as Chigbo Akpoluobi, a resident of Obodoukwu Road, Nkitaku, Okpoko, Anambra.
The Police spokesman said the suspect allegedly lured the girl to his apartment on June 14th, to rape her.
He revealed that the suspect voluntarily confessed to his offense.
According to him, the State Commissioner of Police, John Abang, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation.
He added that the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution after investigation, and that the victim is currently on admission at the hospital.
