COVID-19: USA DONATES OVER $7M TO NIGERIA.
The US Government are setting the Pace in the world's humanitarian and health assistance response to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Nigeria, amongst several other African countries is a huge beneficiary of the generousity from the US Government, as $7M would be donated to it from the budgeted $274M investment set aside for this humanitarian purpose aimed at 64 countries across the world, facing the menace of this Global Pandemic.
Nigeria would receive more than $7m in health and humanitarian funding will go toward risk communication, water and sanitation activities, infection prevention, and coordination. This assistance joins more than $5.2 billion in U.S. health assistance and more than $8.1 billion in total assistance for Nigeria over the past 20 years.
This aid comes at a critical time when Nigeria is face to face with this Global pandemic, as there are over 200 persons affected by the virus. The need to create and develop isolation centers becomes more vital. This funding also helps Nigeria accquire more Ventilators, and Relief materials that would help manage and contain the spread of the virus.
