POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS, SOLDIER IMPERSONATORS IN DELTA STATE

Operatives of the Eagle-Net Special Squad of the Delta State Police Command apprehended three suspected armed robbers at about 0900hrs on 12th March 2023 with three locally-made guns and one live cartridge concealed in a bag of rice.


Available information indicates that the suspects who were arrested during a thorough search by the operative were on the tricycle with three locally-made guns and one live cartridge which was concealed inside a bag of rice in the tricycle.


However, two of the suspects found their escape route into the bush, abandoning the tricycle and the 26-year-old operator, Ahmed Umaru, an indigene of Ayingba LGA, Kogi State. The tricycle operator was arrested, and the exhibit was recovered while the fleeing suspects were on a search for an arrest.

Similarly, a team from Operations “COBRA 11” comprising operatives from the Response Squad, Raiders Squad, and operations department of the command bungled a syndicate of fake military men in Asaba on 12th March 2023 following the intelligence report they received.


Information indicates that the hoodlums who disguised as military personnel were planning to induce mayhem in the state and deceive unsuspecting victims.


Thereupon, the security personnel stormed the suspects’ hideouts around Okwe axis, Asaba, in Oshimili South LGA, and nabbed the two suspects, Mike Okon, 27, and Wilson Sunday, 24, both from Cross River State.


Meanwhile, an Army camouflage uniform and a pair of black jungle boots were confiscated from Okon while three green berets and one black beret were retrieved from Sunday.
