Troops Arrest Suspects, Recover AK-47 Rifles in Delta Operation
Troops of Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1 under Joint Task Force, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE, have recovered arms and arrested two suspects during a swift security operation in Delta State.
The operation, carried out in Ogidigben Community, Warri South West Local Government Area, followed reports of sporadic gunfire within the area. Acting on credible intelligence, troops responded promptly, leading to the arrest of two suspected criminals.
During the operation, security forces recovered four AK-47 rifles, six magazines, 106 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two knives, ten machetes, and four rain boots.
The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.
Commending the troops, the Commander of 63 Brigade, Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, praised their professionalism and urged them to sustain the operational momentum. He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to denying criminal elements freedom of action and warned individuals involved in illegal activities to desist, as intensified efforts are underway to track and apprehend offenders.
