TWO MOBILE POLICEMEN KILLED AS BOKO HARAM/ISWAP ATTACK DAMBOA LGA OF BORNO
Boko Haram/ISWAP on Thursday stormed Damboa Local Government Area of Borno state, killing two Mobile Policemen (Mopol) and setting their head office located in the town ablaze with three operational vehicles
Eons Intelligence gathered that the attack occurred around 5.30pm on Thursday evening after the heavily armed insurgents stormed the community in eight gun trucks.
The attack was met with heavy resistance by the mobile police who engaged the insurgents in a gun battle. The assailants overpowered the security personnel and killed two of them in the ensuing shootout. Also, they looted three shops in the community and set offices belonging to hunters and security operatives ablaze.
Sources disclose that three residents were also killed by a stray bullet from the gun duel.
The Minister of Defense Bashir Magashi, who led the Chief of Defense Staff and other service chiefs to Maiduguri a day after the attack, confirmed the incident and described it as 'minor'.
