3 PERSONS KILLED, PROPERTIES DESTROYED AS EIYE CONFRATERNITY MEMBERS STORM MUSHIN IN REPRISAL ATTACK
Three persons were confirmed dead on Monday night as hoodlums suspected to be members of the Eiyé confraternity cult group stormed Akingbode and Olateju area in Mushin area, Lagos State.
Sources say the cultists, who were on a reprisal, set several properties ablaze during the incident.
It was gathered that a suspected Aiye cult member known as Plantain opened fire at a bar while drunk. He killed an Eiye member and injured several others in the process.
Angered by the killing of their member, the Eiye cult group trailed Plantain to his Mushin neighbourhood on Monday morning. They attacked anyone on sight until they were dispersed by Police operatives.
The hoodlums were said to have returned around 11pm on Monday and torched about 60 vehicles, burnt houses and looted shops belonging to innocent traders
They were said to have fired sporadic gunshots into the air causing pandemonium that left many people fleeing the chaos injured.
