FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY OFFICIALS REFUSED TO HELP AN ACCIDENT VICTIM TO AVOID STAINING THEIR CAR- THE TRUE ACCOUNT OF WHAT HAPPENED

The public has accused members of the Federal Road Safety Commission operating along Enugu to Nsukka of refusing to carry an accident victim in their official car because they do not want to stain their vehicle with her blood.

According to an eye witness who shared the post on social media, a female FRSC official identified as Ngwu Linda allegedly said the victim can not be transported with the official vehicle to avoid her blood staining the car.

However, FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer, ACM Owoimaha Udoma told Eons Intelligence that the rescue team called for an ambulance because of the severity of the injured victim’s condition. “While they were waiting, it was getting late, so the members of the public now became agitated because they did not look at the special condition of the accident. As a member of the public, they didn’t know exactly what the rescue team are talking about,” ACM Udoma said.

Speaking further, the FRSC Zonal Commander said he carried out an investigation into the matter immediately he heard about it on social media and discovered that, the members of the public only noticed the accident victim that was on the roadside in the full glare of passersby.

No one took notice that the rest of the patrol team were trying to rescue another victim trapped underneath the vehicle that had swerved into the bush.

“But then the team leader was there, trying to do everything possible because someone else was trapped underneath the vehicle that swerved and entered the bush. The team leader now brought that one out and other corpers. They just videoed the one that was out there, they didn’t see the one that was underneath the vehicle inside the bush.”

As the team leader brought the one that was underneath the vehicle and put inside the vehicle, they carried that one that the public was seeing on the major road, they now picked the two and eventually carried them to the vehicle.” He explained.

An eyewitness confirmed that other officers were in the bush trying to rescue other victims “other persons about 2 of them were inside the bush were the coastal bus fell into,” a transporter told Eons Intelligence.

According to the transporter, when he got to the scene of the accident, a male FRSC official was also standing beside the injured victim.

He said the spate of the injured victim on the roadside made people wonder why the FRSC officials did not immediately rush her to the hospital before coming back to transport the others for medical attention.

Responding to allegations that marshal Ngwu Linda said the injured victim can not be transported using the FRSC vehicle, ACM Ozodimu said he does not know if the public heard her wrong, because “the vehicle is taxpayers money It is meant to carry accident victims and that is the central reasons they are on the road.”

“The true situation is that the team leader saw one (accident victim) on the road and went to rescue somebody underneath the vehicle inside the bush. And eventually, they carried all of them to the hospital”

He said the Marshal in the eye of the storm when interrogated said she couldn’t even remember saying something like that. He revealed that she is a new recruit who joined the FRSC last year.

“This particular female couldn’t have had a say. Because she is the least of the rescue team. The Marshal in question is the least in terms of ranking in the patrol team. Assuming that the team leader who is an officer is videoed out in this matter or any other senior Marshal. One now wonders how a junior officer, the least could have said something like that.”
