GUNMEN ABDUCT SEVERAL COMMUTERS ALONG THE IKOYI-IYARA ROAD IN KOGI STATE
Gunmen have abducted several commuters along the Ikoyi-Iyara road, Ijumu LGA of Kogi State.
This attack comes exactly 24 hours after gunmen kidnapped a first-class -monarch of Odolu Chiefdom, Haruna Opaluwa, in Odulu community, Igalamela-Odolu LGA of Kogi State.
The incident occurred around 5pm on Sunday November 28.
It was gathered that the assailants, numbering about 20, ambushed the victims while they were commuting, and opened fire on them before whisking an unspecified number of commuters away.
Sources say the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Victor Adewale Omofaiye, was amongst the victims who sustained gunshot wounds from the kidnappers as they were able to escape from the scene of the attack.
On Thursday, Eons Intelligence reported that gunmen invaded a farm at Lagbeta community, Kogi LGA, kidnapping six family members and also killing one person.
