IPOB: ATTEMPT TO BLOW UP SECRET SERVICE FACILITY THWARTED IN ENUGU
The Nigerian secret service has successfully thwarted an attempt by men suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to blow a facility.
Eons Intelligence gathered that in the early hours of Tuesday, September 22, men suspected to be IPOB, threw in an explosive device in a Secret Service facility in Enugu.
Fortunately, the eagle-eyed security team watching the facility spotted the explosive device on time, and valiant officers diffused the explosive device before it could go off.
Eons Intelligence security experts believe this incident may not be unconnected with the recent occurrence where IPOB officers alleged that DSS officials killed some of their members.
Recall Eons Intelligence reported that two officers of the Department of State Security were killed by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB on Sunday, August 23 in Emene, Enugu State.
According to intelligence gathered, on the ill-fated day, security officers went to disperse the proscribed IPOB members who were holding a meeting in the Community Secondary School in Emene.
Things went out of hand, and two DSS members lost their lives.
IPOB members also claimed some of their members were killed on that day and promised to avenge the death of their members.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is a separatist organization in Nigeria whose main aim is to restore an independent state of Biafra.
A High Court in Nigeria proscribed the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB as a terrorist organization in 2017.
