KENYA: U.S. ISSUES TERRORISM THREAT FOR NAIROBI
The US Embassy in Nairobi has issued a terror alert imploring American citizens and other foreigners and tourists to exercise vigilance in high-traffic locations.
In the security advisory, the Embassy advised citizens and foreign visitors to be conscious of their surroundings and monitor local media for updates.
According to the Embassy, Nairobi remains a prime target for terrorists who may be planning imminent attacks in the country.
The alert read in part "Terrorist groups could attack with little or no warning, targeting hotels, embassies, restaurants, malls and markets, schools, police stations, places of worship, and other places frequented by foreigners and tourists,"
The US Embassy also stated that the Kenyan government has increased counter-terrorism patrols in response to the increased threat of terrorism.
