HIGHLIGHTS OF EONS INTELLIGENCE REPORTS ON BOKO HARAM/ISWAP INSURGENTS FOR YEAR 2020

Due to the Nigeria Military's sustained onslaughts against Boko Haram/ ISWAP Insurgents, terrorist activities in the northeast has greatly declined.

Eons Intelligence first reported Boko Haram insurgents’ massive decline in June after analysing an eid el fitr celebration video released by the Jihadists.

The report was followed by an exclusive on how ISIS & Al-Qaeda affiliates manipulate Amnesty International and other NGOs to survive in Nigeria and Africa

As the Nigerian Military reclaimed towns seized by Boko Haram, Governor Babagana Zulum began the process of resettling Internally Displaced Persons in Borno who fled their homes because of terrorism in Baga town.

In the process of resettling the IDPs, Boko Haram insurgents attacked the Borno State Government’s convoy three times in three months between July and September 2020. On Wednesday, July 29, Boko Haram shot at Governor Babagana Zulum’s convoy at Baga town. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the attack.

However, the security operatives attached to the Borno State government's convoy attacked by the Boko Haram insurgents on Friday, September 25 were not that lucky. Reports say the Insurgents ambushed a government convoy near the town of Baga, killing at least 20 persons

Despite all odds, Nigeria Military in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force and other security operatives continued to maintain onslaughts against the insurgents. Weeks after the daring attack against the Borno State Governor, the Nigeria Airforce launched a successful aerial strike on major hideouts of the Boko Haram insurgents which resulted in the elimination of of top ISWAP leaders, including Amir Sa'ad and Abu Fatima.

An exclusive report sourced  from a Boko Haram child militant fighter revealed how Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Jama’at Ahl al-Sunna lil Da’wa wal Jihad (JAS) lost his leg and became incapacitated in one of the devastating air bombardment by the Nigerian Army in the insurgents camp in Tumbuktu - Sambisa forest.

The war against Boko Haram is not yet over, as the insurgents still carry out pockets of devastating attacks on soft targets but with the collaboration and support by community members, there is hope that Boko Haram Insurgency would be stamped out in the coming year.
