MAN NARROWLY ESCAPES BEING KIDNAPPED BY PSEUDO-POLICEMEN IN LEKKI

A man has narrowly escaped being kidnapped by pseudo-policemen in the Lekki area of Lagos State, Eons Intelligence have gathered.

The incident occurred around 11pm on Friday October 8 while the victim was driving home when he was flagged by some men wearing police attire and beaming their flashlights at him to stop his car.

The victim pulled over thinking it was some sort of police check as the fake policemen had asked him for his car papers, to open his boot, before demanding that he accompany them to their station.

According to his narration, they demanded his car keys and got him in his car while signaling to their accomplices to follow them in another black car.

In a bid to rescue himself from this precarious situation, the victim grabbed the steering from the pseudo-policeman who was driving and swung it sharply to the left ensuring he bashed an oncoming white vehicle to create a scene and attract the attention of commuters and residents in the area.

Immediately after bashing the white vehicle, the fake policeman sitting in the back seat panicked and dashed off from the vehicle leaving him and the driver to wrestle it out. He was eventually rescued by some men who were on the roadside and the pseudo-policeman driving was arrested and taken to the police station.

Eons Intelligence advises residents in Lagos to be security conscious and always be situationally aware of their environment, avoid driving late at night, be suspicious of every police checkpoint at night especially when a police patrol vehicle is replaced by some other cars, never step out of your car at night on a lonely street where policemen are doing ‘car particulars inspection’, to always maintain a low profile, and be aware that not all accidents are accidents as some are set up to get attention.

In the last two months, kidnappers have been on rampage in Lagos with the State recording three high-profile abductions on Monday September 27. Eons Intelligence reported how gunmen kidnapped AVM Smith (Rtd) in Ajah, while he was on his way from work and ferried through the waters.

Similarly, gunmen kidnapped a couple, Pst and Mrs. Ogundeji around 8pm in the Dopemu area of the State. Recall that another victim was abducted on Admiralty way, Lekki.
