NDOKWA YOUTHS SHUTDOWN OIL PIPELINE IN UKWUANI, DELTA STATE

Youths of Ndokwa ethnic nationality in Delta state on Tuesday, November 24 shut down an oil facility in Ukwuani.

The youths, who live-streamed themselves shutting down the facility, threatened to blow up the pipeline if the federal government does not accede to their demands which were not itemized in the live-streamed video.

"Now is just a warning, next one again, kaboom!" the youths said.

The incidence is coming a few days after the leaders of the South-South region demanded the restructuring of Nigeria, in line with the principle of true Federalism at a meeting held with the Federal Government.

Recall Eons Intelligence reported that Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Governor said President Muhammadu Buhari has an opportunity to address the demands of the people or put the country “on fire.”

Ndokwa youths have a history of threatening to disrupt the oil and gas operations in their community as protests against alleged marginalisation and neglect of their people despite playing host to a number of oil multinationals in the Niger Delta region.

Earlier the June, the youths under the aegis of Youth wing of Ndokwa Neku Union, apex socio-cultural umbrella of the Ndokwa people worldwide gave the federal government a 14-day ultimatum to address their complaints of neglect and marginalisation or they would destroy the oil facilities in their region.
