NIGERIA POLICE CLARIFIES ALLEGED RAID ON NLC SECRETARIAT

The Nigeria Police Force has addressed recent allegations regarding a raid on the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) National Secretariat, known as the Labour House, in the Central Business District of Abuja.

In a press release, the NLC’s Head of Media and Public Relations claimed that officers from the Nigeria Police Force, accompanied by individuals in black T-shirts and plain clothes, conducted a raid at the Labour House.

The Nigeria Police Force clarified that the operation was part of an ongoing investigation to apprehend a prime criminal suspect, a foreign national involved in various criminal activities across Nigeria and other African countries. The suspect was traced to a shop within the same building as the NLC Secretariat.

Police detectives, armed with appropriate legal authority, conducted a lawful and coordinated operation specifically targeting the suspect, who was using a rented shop within the building as a front for criminal activities. The NLC, its staff, and leadership were not the focus of the operation.

The Police have called for the NLC’s cooperation and support in the ongoing investigation, emphasizing that the suspect poses a significant security threat. The investigation is crucial for the safety and security of Nigeria and other African nations.
