OPHK Troops Neutralise Terrorists, Force Surrenders in Sustained Borno Offensive
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have continued intensive offensive operations against Boko Haram and ISWAP elements across Borno State, recording multiple successes in recent clearance and fighting patrols.
Under Operation Desert Sanity V, sustained pressure along the Azir–Wajiroko axis on 10 January 2026 forced 11 terrorists to surrender, along with their AK-47 rifles and assorted ammunition.
Earlier, on 9 January 2026, OPHK troops carried out extensive clearance operations in the Bulaagalda cluster, destroying several terrorist enclaves and camps at Dagumba, Bonne, Yaganari, Gosuri and Umchile, including the Abu Nazir and Abu Ahmed camps. During the operation, troops dismantled key life-support structures, degraded terrorist logistics, and recovered flags, weapons and magazines. Similar operations in the Yale and Bula Gaida areas compelled terrorists to flee, leading to the destruction of additional logistics facilities and the recovery of weapons, ammunition and a general-purpose machine gun.
In a separate intelligence-led operation, troops engaged JAS/ISWAP elements between Sojiri and Kayamla villages, neutralising eight terrorists and recovering AK-47 rifles. Two suspected logistics collaborators were also arrested in Gubio Local Government Area for allegedly supplying materials to terrorist groups.
The military said troops remain resolute in sustaining offensive pressure to dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace and security across the North-East region.
