POLICE ARREST 20-YEAR-OLD MAN OVER DEATH OF GIRLFRIEND IN JIGAWA
A 20-year-old man identified as Abubakar Abdullahi has been arrested by operatives of the Jigawa state police command over the death of his 17-year-old girlfriend, Habiba Samaila.
The suspect, a resident of Koral village Garki LGA, was alleged to have been the boyfriend of the deceased and was allegedly seen together a night before the victim's death.
The information available indicates that the suspect was arrested following the complaints of the deceased father, one Malam Samaila (Male) aged 50yrs of Beguwa village, who lodge a complain about his missing biological daughter one Habiba Samaila aged 17yrs on 15th August 2023 at about 2000hrs at Ringim Police station, and added that she was last seen on 14th August 2023 at about 2000hrs after she had left the house and all efforts to locate her proved abortive.
Afterward, on August 16th at about 1800hrs, the victim's decayed body was found deposited in a well, tied up with a rope. The body was evacuated and was taken to General Hospital Ringim for medical examination.
