POLICE ARRESTS A 61-YEAR-OLD MAN FOR IMPREGNATING HIS DAUGHTER

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a sixty-one-year-old man identified as Eke Kanu for allegedly impregnating his 19-year- old daughter.


In a bid to cover his crime, the suspect who lives on Ebute Road, Ikorodu took his daughter to a chemist who administered drugs to terminate her pregnancy. 


The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, in a statement on Sunday, said the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department had taken over the case, and the victim was taken to the Mirabel Centre for forensic examination and medical care.


According to Elkana, Kanu’s daughter said her father started having sexual intercourse with her when she was young.


“The victim stated that her father started having sexual intercourse with her when she was young and threatened to deal with her if she told anybody about it. She further stated that when her father discovered that she was pregnant, he took her to a chemist, where she was given some drugs and an injection to terminate the pregnancy,” the police spokesperson revealed. 


Similarly, A 33-year-old Chibuike Kalu who lives in Amodu Street, Bariga, has been arrested for defiling his 14-year-old daughter. 


Elkana said Kalu has confessed to the crime and would be charged for the crime. He added that the victim had been taken to the Mirabel Centre for medical treatment and forensic examination.
