POLICE FOIL ATTACK ON BANK, DISPERSE SIT-AT-HOME ENFORCERS IN ANAMBRA
The operatives of Anambra State Police Command on 9th May 2023 dispersed the illegal enforcers of the sit-at-home order in Nkwo market, Anambra State.
The information available indicates that some men who were armed with guns and other harmful weapons came out in their numbers on a motorbike and started shooting sporadically, in an attempt to rob a bank and disrupt commercial activities and vehicular movement going on in Ihaila.
Consequently, the joint operatives immediately responded in gun combat with them which made the armed men recant their evil plan and took to their heels.
Unfortunately, the bank's chief security officer CSO was injured in his leg by a stray bullet from the armed group and was taken to the hospital for immediate treatment.
Meanwhile, stillness has been upheld in the area as Police with other security forces have intensified patrols, and improved security dominance and surveillance in the state.
