POLICE NAB KIDNAPPERS, COUPLE OVER INVOLVEMENT IN CULTISM IN EKITI
The operatives of Ekiti State Police Command arrested 10 suspected kidnappers and seven others, including a couple, for cult-related and illicit drug offenses.
During interrogation, a suspected kidnapper One Usman, who was arrested inside the forest reserve in Oke Ako in the Ikole LGA confessed to being among the hoodlums who laid siege on 3rd September 2022 for an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Segun Ayebule, who was shot dead along Oke Ako Road, Ekiti State, after which his siblings were kidnapped in a vehicle that conveyed them. Although, the concerted efforts by the command’s operatives later led to the rescue of the two kidnapped victims.

Similarly, nine other suspected kidnappers were arrested by men of the Rapid Response Squad and as well officers combing the bushes in different locations including in Ado Ekiti, a forest close to Igede Farms and Kajola Forest Reserve.
Moreover, a couple, identified as Lateef and Jumoke, including one Adewoye, were suspected to be cultists and sponsoring the riots between the Supreme Eiye Confraternity and Black Axe ‘Aiye’ confraternity in Ado-Ekiti recently were also apprehended alongside the kidnappers. The couple also confessed to being a drug baron during the interrogation with them.
In addition, the police Operatives arrested, one Malik, a member of a secret cult group, and recovered two locally made pistols and two live cartridges in his possession.
Following his confession, he mentioned the names of his group members who were now at large. Intelligence effort is ongoing to arrest other fleeing members.
