SECURITY OPERATIVES RESCUE KIDNAPPED VICTIM IN EKITI, ARREST SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER

Security operatives have rescued a kidnapped victim in Ekiti State.


This comes after the police received as distress call around 6.30pm on August 19 19 that unknown gunmen numbering eight suspected to be kidnappers stormed the residence of a certain Alabi Segun of Ilefon Street, Iye-Ekiti, captured him and whisked him away in a Toyota Camry car to an unknown location.


Security personnel were deployed to the scene, they trailed the suspected kidnappers to their hideouts, and rescued the victim but the gunmen escaped into a nearby forest.


Two abandoned cars recovered while effort is ongoing to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspects,


In a similar development, security operatives on August 20 arrested a suspected armed robber identified as Ojo Fadeyi Femi in Ado-Ekiti.


He was arrested after the police received a distress call that a group of assailants were unleashing mayhem on residents in Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti. The police trailed him to the hideout where his gang was seeking refuge and recovered 43 wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp, 40 wraps of white powder suspected to be cocaine, two sharp cutlasses and fifty two thousand seven hundred and fifty naira (52,750) were recovered.
