SIT-AT-HOME: SUSPECTED IPOB MILITANTS DISRUPT CATHOLIC SERVICE IN ONITSHA

Reports indicate that hoodlums suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Tuesday, invaded a Catholic church in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Last week Saturday, Eons Intelligence reported that the separatist group declared a sit-at-home order on Tuesday January 18 to give solidarity to Nnamdi Kanu, who will appear before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

It was gathered that the heavily armed hoodlums stormed the early morning mass around 5.30am on Tuesday, demanding an explanation from the presiding priest why he was holding mass on the day Nnamdi Kanu was scheduled to appear before a court.

The assailants, after disrupting the service at St. Theresa Parish in Awada, close to Ukaegbu junction, proceeded to set a tricycle found on the road ablaze while also beating the driver to a pulp.

Sources say upon the hoodlums invasion into church, worshippers, in a bid to avoid being attacked, fled and scampered for safety, sparking tension in the community.

It should be recalled that in September, heavily armed IPOB Militants disrupted an ongoing junior WAEC exam at Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume, in Njaba LGA of Imo State.
