NAF Flattens Bandit Camps, Cripple IED Operations in Zamfara

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Sector 2, has recorded a major breakthrough in its ongoing campaign against banditry with the execution of two precision air interdiction missions in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The operations, carried out on December 28, 2025, targeted Turba Hill and Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, both identified as key bandit enclaves. According to NAF sources, the strikes were conducted based on credible, multi-source intelligence. The first mission focused on Turba Hill, a known bandit hideout.

Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance activities revealed intense human movement and a zinc-roofed structure assessed to be central to the group’s operations. Following positive identification, NAF air assets engaged the target with precision, resulting in its complete destruction and the neutralisation of several bandits.

The second strike was carried out at Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, a notorious stronghold linked to the planning and execution of recent improvised explosive device (IED) attacks along the Dansadau–Magami axis. The camp was also identified as a major IED manufacturing hub. The precision airstrike successfully hit multiple active structures within the enclave, triggering fires that destroyed the facilities and neutralised several bandits, effectively crippling the group’s IED production and deployment capabilities.

The Nigerian Air Force said the coordinated strikes have significantly degraded the operational strength of bandit groups in the area, particularly their ability to manufacture and deploy IEDs.

The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with other components of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to deny criminal elements safe havens, weaken their combat capabilities, and support ongoing joint efforts to restore lasting peace and security across the North-West and Nigeria as a whole.
