NIGERIA HAS THE THIRD-HIGHEST NUMBER OF CORONAVIRUS CASES ON THE CONTINENT
Nigeria now has the third-highest number of confirmed Coronavirus cases on the continent, Chike Ihekweazu, the Director-General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said.
Dr Ihekewazu disclosed this on Tuesday, June 2, during the Presidential Task Force Briefing on COVID-19.
South Africa currently has the highest number of confirmed cases in Africa, with over 35,000 recorded infections and 705 deaths.
Egypt closely follows this record with 1005 COVID-19 related deaths and over 26,000 confirmed infections.
Nigeria, as of now, has the third-highest cases with over 10,000 confirmed cases and 299 deaths.
