SOLDIERS ALLEGEDLY STORM TASUED, ARREST SUG PRESIDENT AND OTHERS
Nigerian Troops on Thursday allegedly stormed the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, arresting the Students Union President (SUP), Sodiq Ridwan, and others
Sources say the Students Leader popularly called 'Reliable Surz' was arrested following his intervention in a students' protest
Reports indicate that Ridwan and some of his fellow student leaders were whisked away by soldiers attached to the Ilese Barracks.
It was gathered that the students were moving in different cars when Army personnel stopped them around Conoil filling Station.
TASUED Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wole Banjo, confirmed the incident to newsmen.
“I appeal to students to stay calm. I assure you that we are working to ensure the peaceful resolution of the matter”, the VC said
