SUSPECTED BANDITS KILL VIGILANTE HEAD, RAPE WOMEN IN KATSINA STATE
Suspected bandits launched an attack on 25 June 2023 in Danmusa community on 25th June 2023 killed the head of the vigilante group identified as Mallam Nabanje, raped three women and set his house ablaze in Danmusa LGA, Katsina State.
The information available indicates that the hoodlums invaded the community at the late hour of Sunday and went directly to the residence of the vigilante leader. They blocked all routes to avoid him from escaping. After a painstaking search, they found him under a tree where they engaged him in a gun duel until he ran out of ammunition and was rounded up when he sought refuge in a compound where he was butchered.
The bandits who came on a revenge mission after they had earlier accused Nabanje of being responsible for the destruction of their enclaves also shot two persons and reportedly raped three women during the attack.
Meanwhile, the police are working on the arrest of the hoodlums.
