THREE DEAD AS BOMB EXPLOSION ROCK KOGI STATE
At least three people were confirmed dead following heavy bomb explosion in Oyinoyi's palace in Okene LGA,Kogi state in the wee hours of today, December 29,2022.
Information available indicates that security operatives deployed to Ohinoyi of Ebira Palace Okene ahead of the President Muhammadu Buhari visit for project commissioning in Kogi State detered a Volkswagon Golf Vehicle implanted with Explosives Devices from entering the newly built government Reference hospital, Okene.
The vehicle later exploded at a distance far away from the Reference Hospital which was one of the places billed for commissioning.
The explosion which occurred behind the perimeter fence of the Ohinoyi palace caused damages to some part of the fence while the vehicle was damaged beyond recognition.
However,three Civilians were confirmed dead on the spot and burnt beyond recognition.
Meanwhile,the President landed safely in Okene at about 0954hrs of today and commissioned Ategba New Road,The New Ohinoyi Palace and the Reference Hospital Okene.
