TROOPS KILLED 135 BANDITS IN AIR OPERATIONS IN KATSINA AND ZAMFARA
Troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI killed 135 bandits in an air attack launched on several camps in Katsina and Zamfara between May 20 and May 22, 2020.
John Enenche, the Coordinator of Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, May 23, 2020.
According to Enenche, the air operation was conducted following human Intelligence reports as well as a series of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions.
The reports led to the identification of the camps in Katsina, which include Abu Radde Camps 1 and 2 and Dunya in Jibia and DanMusa Local Government Area.
The troops also attacked Hassan Tagwaye's Camp, Alhaji Auta's Camp, and Maikomi in Birnin Magaji and Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to Enenche, the Air Component launched an attack on the Abu Radde Camps on May 20,2020, where huts housing one of the leaders of the Bandits was killed alongside some of the bandits along the Dumburum Forest.
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar commended the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI for their professionalism.
He urged them to remain resolute in order to achieve the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to help restore normalcy to all parts of the Nation.
