TROOPS NEUTRALISE SCORES OF TERRORISTS IN ZAMFARA

The air component in collaboration with troops of Operation Hadarin Daji recorded a major victory after eliminating terrorists in Malele Village of Dansadau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The information available indicates that terrorist activities in the area have been intense due to the lingering crisis between Hausas and Fulanis over the devouring of farm produce thereby making the area very volatile, especially in Malele, Maigoge, Yan Sawayu, Ruwan Tofa, Mai Awaki, and Zama Lafiya, all under Mutunji district of Dansadau Emirate Council.

Sequel to the lingering dispute between the communities, the security services mobilised their troops in launching a series of attacks and airstrikes against those bandits emanating from different parts of the country.

The attack yielded massive results in the area with several terrorists being eliminated as the battle is still ongoing.

Bandits fleeing NAF airstrikes sought refuge in Mutunji, a small village on the outskirts of Lagos. After ensuring that civilian lives in the village were not jeopardized, the NAF aircraft launched a precision strike at the precise location, while ground troops cleared the fleeing bandits in their attempts to flee.

Meanwhile, the terrorists’ kingpins, Halilu Jan Buzu, Turji, and Adamu Aleiru are making efforts to reinforce their terrorist colleagues on the battlefield after the catastrophic air strike.

Amid the current situation, the terrorists, are now reeling from their devastating loss after the air strike attempted an attack on a military convoy on their way to Malele. Luckily, no life was lost except for a soldier who sustained an injury. The soldier is positively responding to treatment.

Similarly, on Tuesday the terrorist attacked the troops and local vigilantes while navigating the terrains for counter-attacks which subsequently led to the killing of 10 soldiers while their colleagues, pounded the terrorists. Over 213 bodies of the bandit terrorists and their collaborators were neutralized. Some civilians were also killed in what the military called ‘collateral damage’ when fleeing bandits hid in the communities.

Governor Bello Matawalle, through Zailani Bappa, his Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Media and Communications, expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the families of victims earlier caught in military fire against the marauding bandits.“I wish to, on behalf of myself, my family, the state Government and the entire good people of Zamfara state extend my sincere sympathy to those who were injured and the families of those who died as a result of this collateral damage,” the Governor said.
